Marcus East was born and raised in Salem, Ore. He graduated from South Salem High and attended the University of Oregon. He earned his medical degree at Penn State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pa. There, he completed his internal medicine internship and his ophthalmology residency.

Dr. East returned to Salem to join Medical Center Eye Clinic in 2006. He is a clinical instructor at the Veterans Hospital in Portland. He is a frequent speaker for Salem Hospital in their diabetes education classes. His practice is in routine and medical eye care and surgery. He has a large pediatric and adult care practice.

Dr. East and his wife, Amy, have three children. He enjoys running, outdoor activities and spending time with family.
