Dr Stice seems to have done a good job on my first cataract surgery, but I had a terrible time recovering. Ten days later I still have some pain, but the worst was starting the day after surgery with stomach and GI harsh symptoms. Phone call went nowhere. Each person acted surprised that I had a reaction yet online I read that it is quite common to have a response to the eye drops and the anesthesia. They all acted very casual about my distress. I had to put off surgery for the second eye to give myself plenty of time to recover from the first surgery. The staff all seem to be at a high school football game. Lots of joking and laughing and not really paying attention to patients. Not really equipped to deal with people in a medical setting. They have two distinct offices and they don’t seem to have a link between them so the patient in distress has to call the other office and then there is always no answer and having to leave a message and waiting for a call back. Overall, I would not recommend this office, even though Dr. Stice himself seems competent and was personable. He just needs to get a better staff. Insurance ties me to this outfit. Otherwise, I would seek a different ophthalmologist office. Part 2: Glenda, the nurse you went with you, was there the second surgery. She was a comfort, is extremely knowledgeable, and was willing to be there 100% for me She even apologized for my past experience, which made me feel like I was in good hands. That’s what it takes for a patient to feel confident about going into a surgery. Thank you for magically being there, Glenda! I’m still glad I never have to do this again.
