Ryan grew up in Salem, Oregon. He graduated from North Salem High. He then went to Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He completed his Ophthalmology residency at the University of Missouri.

Ryan practiced Ophthalmology in Eugene, Oregon before joining Medical Center Eye Clinic in 2012. His practice is in routine and medical eye care, and surgery. He has a large pediatric and adult practice.

Ryan and his wife Anne, have two children. Ryan enjoys fishing, camping and spending time with his family.
